Shirodhara Treatment – Deep Relaxation & Mental Rejuvenation with Ayurveda
Shirodhara is a classical Ayurvedic therapy where a continuous stream of warm herbal oil, milk, or medicated decoctions is gently poured over the forehead, specifically on the ‘third eye’ area (Ajna Chakra). It is a profoundly calming treatment that helps relieve stress, anxiety, insomnia, and neurological disorders, bringing balance to the Vata and Pitta doshas.
Types of Shirodhara
Taila Dhara – Using warm herbal oils (e.g., Ksheerabala Taila, Brahmi Taila)
Ksheera Dhara – Using medicated milk, ideal for Pitta imbalance
Takra Dhara – Using herbal buttermilk, beneficial for skin and scalp issues
Jala Dhara – Using medicated water for special indications like high blood pressure
